The Current User source loads fields from the user currently being rendered. This source is useful for author templates, contributor sections, team pages, and other user-driven layouts. When selected, the field picker only shows fields attached to users through ACF or SCF location rules.

For example, if you create custom profile fields such as avatars, biographies, job titles, or social links, those fields can be displayed automatically inside:

• author archive templates,
• user profile layouts,
• or dynamic user sections.

In the PRO version, this source also works inside User Loops, where nested ACF Field blocks automatically resolve fields from the current loop iteration.

This source only becomes available when WordPress provides a valid user context.
